The Emergency Nursing Professional Development Certificate reviews the anatomic structure and physiological function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurologic, gastrointestinal and endocrine systems. Students will focus on the integration of theory and application of clinical knowledge related to specific disorders common to the emergency department. Students in this program will examine pathology, relevant assessment findings, prioritization of problems, appropriate interventions and management of clients across the lifespan. The certificate program also includes an exploration of legal and ethical issues, as well as safety related implications for nursing practice.
