Course Description

The course explores the components of medication management, including medication reconciliation, ordering/prescribing, dispensing and delivering, preparing and administering, patient teaching, monitoring, evaluating and documentation. Safety considerations will be discussed throughout the course, with indications for high error-prone areas in each component of the system. Considerations for special populations are reviewed. Individual agency and site-specific policies and procedures should always be reviewed prior to performing any of the skills discussed in this course.
