Course Description

A medical office chaperone plays a key role in the health setting. The role of the chaperone is to ensure patients feel comfortable and supported during examination. With the support and guidance of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta, MacEwan is pleased to offer chaperone training that will prepare office staff with the skills they need to take on this important role. In this course, you will have the opportunity to explore different scenarios that will help you understand appropriate procedures and identify improper behaviour during examinations. These scenarios will help you understand patient rights, providing the confidence you need to act as a chaperone. This course is ideal for staff in a medical setting, such as Medical Office Assistants, LPNs, RNs and PCAs.
