Course Description

The Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Instructor course is comprised of the Core Instructor course and the Basic Life Support Instructor training module. The course is delivered by a current and experienced Heart and Stroke Foundation Instructor Trainer. The Core Instructor course is the foundational course required by all Heart and Stroke instructor-candidates. The course teaches instructor-candidates how to apply effective communication techniques, manage the classroom environment and promote knowledge, skill transfer and retention. The Basic Life Support instructor training module introduces the instructor-candidate to the educational materials and course outlines utilized in the delivery of Heart and Stroke BLS provider courses. 

Prerequisites: All BLS Instructor-Candidates must have a current (issued within the past 12 months) Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Provider Card and all candidates must complete the Heart and Stroke Foundation application form prior to registering for the BLS Instructor course with MacEwan University.
