Course Description

This course prepares learners to manage worker placement, health assessment, and reintegration with a clear understanding of the distinct roles of occupational physicians and nurses. Participants learn to complete job demand analyses, functional assessments, and targeted clinical screenings that support safe and appropriate work decisions. The curriculum covers case management models, compensation legislation, attendance frameworks, and the full return-to-work process including monitoring and accommodation. Complex disability cases, psychosocial challenges, substance use, and ethical responsibilities are addressed to strengthen clinical judgment and accountability. Learners conclude with an applied project that brings together assessment, planning, and reintegration strategies, preparing them to manage workplace disability and return-to-work programs with confidence and clarity.
